The Pepin Press
The Pepin Press grew out of Pepin van Roojen's one-man graphic design and book production operation in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 1990, the first book under the Pepin Press imprint was published: The History and Culture of Malaysia, published in Malay and English in co-operation with the National Museum in Kuala Lumpur. It was followed by many titles on Southeast Asian, Middle Eastern and Chinese architecture, decorative arts and cultural history. In 1994, after some eight years in Asia, Pepin relocated back to his home town, Amsterdam. However, the link with the Far East was never severed: most of our production takes place in Asia and we have a logistic hub in Singapore.

Image Archive
We have a huge archive of books, prints, decorative art originals, textiles and fashion items. In addition, we have an archive of tens of thousands of digitized, and often restored, patterns, ornaments and illustrations. Most of our products are developed using content selected from our archives.
Organisation
In tandem with our creative focus, we have paid much attention to building an outstanding international distribution network. We maintain warehouses in Singapore, the U.S.A., the U.K., France and Germany. In addition, we have stockholding partners in some 60 countries. Our products are available worldwide in thousands of bookstores, art supply and craft stores, computer stores, museum stores, department stores, online retailers and many other types of outlets. Some of our best-selling titles have sold over 500,000 copies.
Following a career as international sales manager with large German publishing companies, Pepin's wife, Anette van Roojen, joined the company as Sales Director in 2000. At present Anette and Pepin jointly run the company with a small and dedicated team, assisted by a group of about 50 freelancers.
